Plant Care – Alocasia Reginula Black Velvet
Light: Naturally found on the floors of rainforests, the Alocasia Reginula Black Velvet requires indirect sunlight. And surprisingly, the Alocasia can tolerate low light conditions better than other Aroids, and on the other hand, its leaves will begin to curl if the area is too bright.
Water: Allow the top surface of the soil to dry up between watering the plant. Water your Alocasia once a week, or whenever you feel necessary, and make sure to water the soil thoroughly. Avoid overwatering the plant because it can cause water to pool up and cause its roots to rot.
Soil: Place your Alocasia in a loose and well-draining potting mix to prevent any root diseases.
Humidity Requirement: Medium to High
Fun Facts about the Alocasia Family: Widely known as the Elephant Ears plant, the Alocasia is popular for having the ability to produce large and ornamental foliage. Typically found in the tropical rainforests of South-East Asia, the Alocasia belongs to the Arum genus.
