Plant Care – Anthurium Arrow
Light: Anthuriums can be sensitive to heat. Place your Anthurium Arrow where it can receive bright, dappled, indirect sunlight. Avoid placing your Anthurium under the bright and direct sun, as the heat from the sun can scorch its leaves.
Water: Anthuriums love moist soil. Water your Anthuriums thoroughly and ensure that the soil is evenly moist. Water your plant whenever the top inch of the soil is dry to the touch, and make sure to water till some water flows through the pot’s drainage holes. Do not allow your Anthurium’s soil to go dry. Pair your Anthurium with an excellent soilless potting mix (recommended components for a potting mix below) for a healthy root system.
Soil: Anthuriums thrive in a soilless aroid mix. You can buy them ready-packed, or you can make your own! Here are the potting materials you can use to create your very own soilless aroid mix: Charcoal, Coco chips/ Pine Bark, Perlite and Pumice.
Fertiliser: Anthuriums will do well when fertilised with a slow-release fertiliser.
Humidity Requirement: High. Anthuriums require higher humidity levels of 65% and above. You can use a humidifier to increase the humidity of where it is placed or place it together with other plants.
Fun Facts about the Anthurium genus: Did you know? The Anthurium genus is the largest in the arum family, Araceae, containing about 1000 species of flowering plants! This beautiful genus is native to America and commonly distributed from Mexico to northern Argentina and some parts of the Caribbean
