Plant Care – Aporocactus Flagelliformis
Light: Aporocactus Flagelliformis thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window with filtered light or in a semi-shaded spot in your garden.
Water: This cactus appreciates well-draining soil, so water it sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, which is usually once every two to three weeks. During the winter months, reduce watering to prevent root rot.
Soil: Use a cactus or succulent potting mix to provide the proper drainage for your Rat Tail Cactus. Adding some perlite or sand to the mix can further improve aeration.
Fertiliser: Feed your Aporocactus Flagelliformis with a diluted, balanced cactus fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer) about once a month. Avoid fertilising in the dormant winter months.
Humidity: The Rat Tail Cactus is quite tolerant of average indoor humidity levels. However, it appreciates a slightly more humid environment during the growing season, which you can achieve by misting the plant occasionally or placing a tray of water near it.
Fun Fact about the Rat Tail Cactus: Did you know? Aporocactus Flagelliformis produces delightful, tubular, red or pink flowers that bloom along its long, trailing stems. These blooms add a touch of exotic beauty to your home or garden.
