Plant Care – Begonia Ferox
Light: Place your Begonia Ferox under bright and filtered sunlight. And do avoid full sunlight because it will cause its leaves to scorch and dry up. Give your plant 4 to 6 hours of morning sun and nothing more.
Water: Allow the top surface of the soil to dry up between watering the plant. We would recommend watering lesser rather than watering too much as Begonias can get root rot and other problems. Avoid watering its leaves as it will lead to bacteria growth and diseases. Above all, moderately water the soil of the plant and keep the leaves dry.
Soil: The Begonia does well in a well-draining potting mix that can retain some moisture and drain water quickly.
Fertiliser: Fertilise your plant with a balanced fertiliser diluted to one-quarter strength.
Humidity Requirement: Medium
Fun Facts about the Begonia genus: Did you know? Begonias are flowering plants that belong to the Begoniaceae family. It has a lot in common with melons, cucumbers, and pumpkins. Begonias come from South and Central America, Africa, and South Asia and have about 1500 species. Begonia grows best in locations with filtered sunlight and fertile soil. Begonia has a stem that can store water, so it’s prepared for the dry periods of the year.
