Light: Place your Caladium Thai Beauty under bright and indirect sunlight. And do avoid direct sunlight because it will cause its leaves to scorch and dry up. A few hours of the morning sun will be good for the plant.

The genus name “Caladium” comes from the Greek word, kanalados, which means kidney-shaped. This refers to the plant’s distinctive kidney-shape leaves that are divided into many small leaflets. Caladium plant specimens grow as club-mosses and grow up to 2 feet high in height with a spread of up to 6 feet.
The Caladium genus is a fairly large group of plants. Most members are known as groundcovers, but some are grown as ornamentals. The genus is native to tropical and subtropical regions in Africa, South America, and Central America.
Caladiums are perennial flowering plants that are grown as ornamental plants. The genus Caladium, with more than 200 species, is one of the largest genera of flowering plants in the world.

The best method for propagating caladium plants is to propagating from solid stems. You can take plant cuttings from a healthy root system and allow them to grow in a large container of water. Once the stem has developed roots and is ready to water, you can safely dig up the plant and replante it into its own potting soil.
Caladiums are tuberous plants and are propagated by unearthing the root system and separating the small tubers from the main ones. These can be cut so that each piece does have a growth point, or they can be treated whole. The tubers are planted directly into damp soil. They must be about 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) below the surface and about 9-12 inches (20-30cm) apart.
