Plant Care – Calathea Yellow Fusion
Light: Place your Calathea Yellow Fusion under bright, indirect sunlight and do avoid direct sunlight as it will cause its variegation to fade. High temperature can also cause its leaves to turn brown, thus we advise placing your Calathea somewhere with good ventilation and airflow.
Water: Allow the top surface of the soil to dry up between watering the plant. We recommend watering it once a week. The Calathea enjoys higher levels of humidity, so when the weather gets hot, give it the occasional water mist it deserves.
Soil: The Calathea thrives in a well-draining potting mix.
Fertiliser: Feed your plant with a houseplant fertiliser at half strength once every two weeks during its growing season.
Humidity Requirement: Medium to High
Fun Facts about the Calathea genus: Did you know? The Calatheas are also popularly known as the Prayer plants. They fold their leaves up during the night, resembling praying hands! And when the morning comes, they open up their leaves to start the day. In the wilderness, Calatheas grow on the floor of rainforests where the environment is humid and not much direct sunlight shines through. In other words, when they are grown indoors, a similar setting is needed for them to thrive.
