Plant Care – Dieffenbachia ‘Reflector’
Light: Place your Dieffenbachia ‘Reflector where it can receive bright and indirect sunlight. Do avoid placing it under direct sunlight as it will scorch its foliage! Make sure to turn the pot frequently to ensure the plant receives light uniformly and ensure that new growth is not lopsided.
Water: Allow the top two inches of the soil to dry up inbetween watering the plant. Overwatering your Dieffenbachia can cause water beds, and this will result in root problems. Droopy leaves indicate that the plant needs water, and brown tips suggest that you are waiting too long between waterings.
Soil: The Dieffenbachia will thrive in a well-draining potting mix. If you plan to repot it, we would recommend using a mixture of perlite, peat moss and vermiculite!
Fertiliser: Fertilising your plant with a diluted general houseplant Fertiliser once every five weeks.
Humidity Requirement: Medium to High. Mist the environment if it gets too dry.
Fun Facts about the Dieffenbachia genus: Did you know? The Dieffenbachia has air purifying qualities, making it perfect for indoor settings! However, the Dieffenbachia has tiny, microscopic needle-shaped calcium oxalate crystals all around each part of the plant, and when ingested, it will cause a painful and swollen mouth.
