Plant Care – Homalomena rubescens
Light: Place your Homalomena rubescens Form under bright, indirect sunlight and avoid direct sunlight, which will cause its leave to scorch and burn. It can tolerate some shade, but it will slow its overall growth.
Water: Allow the top surface of the soil to dry up between watering the plant. We recommend watering it once a week or whenever necessary. Overwatering your Homalomena can cause water beds, resulting in root problems. Droopy leaves are a good sign of overwatering. Therefore you should skip a week of watering.
Soil: The Homalomena thrives in a slightly acidic, well-draining potting mix that can retain some moisture.
Fertiliser: Fertilise with a slow-release fertiliser. Do follow the manufacturer’s instructions when fertilising your plants.
Humidity Requirement: Medium. Please give it a regular mist and place it in a well-ventilated area.
Fun Facts about the Homalomena genus: Did you know? The Homalomena is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Araceae! ‘Homalomena’ is derived from Greek – from the words flat (homalos) and moon (mene).
