Plant Care – Sansevieria Superba
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. It can also handle some direct sunlight, making it a versatile option for different indoor settings.
Water: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot, so it’s best to err on the side of underwatering. Reduce watering in winter.
Soil: Thrives in well-draining, sandy potting soil. A cactus or succulent mix is ideal for preventing excess moisture retention.
Fertiliser: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser once every two to three months during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilising in winter when the plant’s growth naturally slows down.
Humidity: Sansevieria Superba can tolerate a wide range of humidity levels and is well-suited to average household conditions. It does not require additional humidity or misting.
Fun Fact about the Sansevieria Superba: Did you know? This plant is often referred to as “Mother-in-Law’s Tongue” due to the sharpness of its leaves. It is also an excellent air purifier, capable of absorbing toxins such as formaldehyde and carbon dioxide, making it a valuable addition to improving indoor air quality.
