Plant Care – Sweet Basil
Light: Sweet Basil thrives in bright, direct sunlight. It requires at least 6 to 8 hours of sun each day to grow vigorously and maintain its aromatic leaves.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. During hot weather, it may need more frequent watering.
Soil: The soil for Basil should be well-draining and rich in organic matter. A high-quality potting mix with good aeration is ideal for promoting healthy root growth.
Fertiliser:Â Basil benefits from regular feeding. You can use a balanced liquid fertiliser every two to three weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) to support its lush foliage.
Humidity:Â Basil prefers moderate to high humidity levels. If you live in a dry climate, consider misting the leaves with water to increase humidity around the plant.
