Plant Care -Vitis vin. ‘Schuyler’ Grapes
Light: Place your Vitis vin. ‘Schuyler’ Grapes outdoors where it can receive full and bright sunlight during its entire growing season. It can tolerate a slight shade, but it is not ideal.
Water: Water your plant thoroughly to ensure that moisture reaches the deepest part of the roots. As the plant is situated outdoors, water the plant frequently and thoroughly, ensuring the soil is moist but not soaked. As we are in a tropical climate, we recommend watering them with ice water or even placing ice cubes around the surface of its soil.
Soil: The plant requires soil with good drainage for it to thrive. We recommend the soil be sandy or rocky for better drainage. Soils that are too compact will cause waterlogged soil and will cause root issues.
Fertiliser: The plant is not needy when it comes to fertilising. A layer of mulch or compost every year will suffice for its nutritional needs.
Pesticides: Try to drench the soil with a diluited form of Neem Oil or mix soil with Neem cake to prevent mites infestations common to grape vines
Humidity Requirement: Medium
Fun Facts about the Grapes: Did you know? If planted into the ground, the roots can go as deep as 15 metres! And if they are well cared for, they can last you for 50 years and maybe even longer!
