Plant Care – Hydrangeas
Light: Most hydrangeas can be grown in full sun or partial shade. However, many hydrangeas do not like scorching conditions so place them in an area where they are shaded from the afternoon sun if placed outdoors.
Water: Allow the top two inches of the soil to dry before watering. Hydrangeas enjoy deep watering at least once a week, especially when the weather is dry.
Soil: Hydrangeas do well in a variety of soil types. We would recommend placing it in well-draining soil.
Fertiliser: Fertilise your Hydrangeas with slow-release fertiliser every three months.
Humidity Requirement: Medium. Low humidity levels will result in leaves wilting.
Fun Facts about the Hydrangeas: Hydrangeas are well known because they change colour according to their pH value. When the soil is acidic, the flowers are blue or dark purple. When the soil is alkaline, the flowers are pink in colour, and when the soil is neutral, the flowers are white or pale green.
