Plant Care – Lavender
Light: Lavender thrives in full sunlight. It requires at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to grow healthy and produce abundant blooms.
Water: Lavender prefers well-draining soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Water the plant sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Soil: The soil should be well-draining and slightly alkaline. A sandy or sandy-loam soil with good aeration is best for its growth.
Fertiliser: It is not a heavy feeder. You can apply a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser once or twice during the growing season (spring and summer) to support its growth.
Humidity: It is adapted to various humidity levels and can withstand low humidity. It generally does well in normal room humidity.
Fun Fact about Lavender: Did you know? Lavender has been used for centuries for its therapeutic properties. Its calming scent is known to help reduce stress and promote relaxation, making it a popular choice for aromatherapy and herbal remedies. Additionally, lavender flowers are not only aromatic but also edible, adding a delightful floral note to culinary creations such as desserts and beverages.
