Plant Care – Chili Padi Plant

Light: The Chili Padi Plant thrives in full sunlight. It requires at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce the spiciest and most flavourful peppers.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. During hot weather, it may need more frequent watering.

Soil: The Chilli Padi Plant prefers well-draining soil with good aeration. A mix of sandy and loamy soil is ideal for its growth and to prevent waterlogging.

Fertiliser: Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertiliser every two weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertiliser application in autumn and winter.

Humidity: The Chilli Padi Plant enjoys moderate to high humidity levels. Consider misting the leaves with water to increase humidity if you live in a dry climate.

Fun Fact about the Chilli Padi Plant: Did you know? The Chilli Padi is one of the hottest chilli pepper varieties in the world, ranking high on the Scoville scale. Despite its small size, its spiciness adds a punch to various cuisines across Southeast Asia.
